The German company Gastro-Cool has developed and launched a particularly environmentally conscious advertising cooler. The ECO STAR combines high performance with sustainable energy savings.
The GCDC400 ECO STAR has an argon-filled double glass door, and due to its low thermal conductivity, the inert gas insulates the interior of the cooler perfectly. Cooling loss and energy consumption are measurably reduced, with a clear view of the cooled contents.
The "green cooler" from Gastro-Cool scores in terms of ecobalance with its environmentally friendly R600a coolant. The company's new flagship product also uses an extremely economical LED lighting system in addition to an energy-efficient compressor and air ventilator. The self-closing door with magnetic seal ensures short opening times and little cold escapes from the inside of the cooler. High-quality workmanship, a lock for the cooler as well as an affordable sales price round off the features of the promotionally effective and distinctly cool ECO STAR "environmental protector".
With its new cooling solution, Gastro-Cool, nationally and internationally one of the leading suppliers of efficient and cost-effective cooling systems, achieves yet another ambitious corporate objective: the dynamic company with headquarters in Willich, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, has declared ecological and social commitment to be the top priorities of its individual cooling solutions. Following this principle, Gastro-Cool, in cooperation with the "Stiftung Unternehmen Wald" for forest conservation, plants one tree for each cooler sold. However, it is not only the environment that benefits when replacing an older cooler with a modern energy saver: depending on the model used, annual electricity costs of more than 100 euros can quickly be saved.

This option calculates the average energy consumption per energylabel. The average consumption minus the energy consumption form the DC400 ECO STAR x cost per KwH per country, is the amount you save per year.
The final option is that you can use your real energy consumption information vs. the DC400 ECO STAR. This will give you the savings per year.
All prices are based on the cheapest KwH offers to be found via comparison sites, in the relevant countries. Date of comparison is 12.05.2022.

Other Green Initiatives
We've got our own Gastro-Cool Forest, our own Bee Meadow flower lot and 95% of our fridges are equiped with R600a
Gastro-Cool Forest
In addition to all green initiatives, there is always more that can be done. When purchasing a DC400 ECO STAR, Gastro-Cool will plant a tree for every refrigerator sold to reduce CO2 emissions. Our own goal is to plant 1.000 trees in 2022.
Bee Meadow
Since last year, Gastro-Cool has planted it's own Bee Meadow field. A dinnerfest for bees, a great colorful field for humans and butterflies. Over 1.000m2 full with flowers to make the planet a little bit nicer, heathier and cleaner.
R600a
Gastro-Cool is using R600a as refrigerant for years in most of their products. R600a has top properties. R600a is friendly to the environment, it doesn’t cause the greenhouse effect, It has a low power consumption, the refrigerant is compatible with different lubricants, it's load temperature speed is low, The cooling performance of R600A is very strong.
